Alpine Pavilion
This open-air, covered stone picnic pavilion
was built in 1934 by the Civil Works Administration (CWA) to also serve
as a bathhouse for the busy bathing beach that was in operation here at
that time. It is today used for various functions, both park-sponsored
and private. Public restrooms are on the ground floor and a drinking
fountain is sited in front of the pavilion (these are wheelchair
accessible and must remain open to the general public during private
events). The second-floor picnic space is not
wheelchair-accessible.
Those considering
renting Alpine Pavilion should read our group-use guidelines and
regulations (.pdf file, 2
pages).

Please keep
these facts in mind when planning your event at Alpine Pavilion
(these conditions are listed in the permit for renting the pavilion and
must be complied with):
Maximum capacity
is 125 persons.
Basic rental is $250
per day (includes electricity and area directly in front of pavilion
up to marked facility limit); $75
additional fee is charged for the use of adjoining refreshment stand.
Parking fee (not included
with rental) is $5 per vehicle per day.
This fee does not reserve space nor does it guarantee re-entry when
parking area is full or area is closed.
Driving vehicles to the pavilion to unload or
load is
prohibited
between the times of 12 and 5 pm.
The
gates from the parking area will be locked during this time.
Facility renters should keep this in mind when arranging for vendors
(i.e., caterers, DJs, or live entertainment).
Permit holder
may
not interfere with or prevent access to the restrooms, travel
ways, picnic areas, and other amenities open to the general public.
Music must be played at low volumes.
Police coverage and maintenance
services, if necessary, will be billed at prevailing overtime
rates.
